As you know ‘Active SCHOOL Week’ takes place every April and is a really enjoyable part of the school year for our children. This year, because of Covid-19 it is not possible for this to go ahead so we are asking you and your families to participate in the ‘Active HOME Week’ challenge instead.
Please click onto our Active Schools Page and scroll to the bottom which has links to the charts to be completed by the children and ideas for how to keep active over the week.

Hello girls and boys,

We hope you all had an enjoyable and peaceful Easter with your families this year. It was a different one for us all! We know it's a difficult time for everybody when you are missing seeing your friends and family and missing your regular activities. Recently our president, Michael D Higgins, thanked all the boys and girls and their parents across the country for all the learning you have been doing at home and we agree, Well Done! A big 'Well Done' also for continuing to stick to the rules to keep our communities and families safe, especially over the holidays!
We hope that you got to enjoy some chocolate on Easter Sunday! We also hope that you enjoyed some fun activities over the holidays. Did anybody try out anything new since you have been at home? We would love to hear your stories if you did or maybe you would like to share some Easter photos with us. You can send us your stories or photos by email to office@greaghrahanschool.ie.
The Easter holidays have been a chance for us to try some different activities too.

Mrs. Maguire has done some baking (not as fancy as Ms. O'Callaghan's!!) She has also been bringing Shep for a walk every day to the lake to look at the swans and geese. He's loving all the attention he's getting these days with everyone staying at home!

Ms Fitzpatrick has been very busy over the holidays. She has been out twice a day for a walk with her family in the morning and afternoon to keep active and get lots of fresh air. She has been painting, reading lots of stories, making jigsaws, having teddy bears picnics, playing in the garden and teaching lots of new words to her son.

Ms. O' Callaghan has tried some baking! She enjoyed baking bread and she also found a simple pancake recipe made from porridge oats that she enjoyed eating afterwards!

We're still missing seeing you all but we're glad we are all following the rule to "Stay at Home." We will continue to keep in contact with you on the website and we will put some fun activities on our Home School Learning page so keep an eye on it for some cool ideas!

Best wishes,
Mrs. Maguire, Ms. Fitzpatrick and Ms. O'Callaghan

 Hi boys and girls,
We hope you have had a good week and are enjoying spending time with your families at home. If you were at school we would have been getting our Easter holidays today. We have been missing all the fun things we would have been doing with you for Easter. Instead, we have put up a selection of games, puzzles, arts and crafts and other activities on the Home Learning page that you might get time to do at home.
We hear you have been working hard on your schoolwork. Really well done, we are very proud of you! We know you will continue to follow the special rules of washing your hands, sneezing and coughing into your elbow and keeping away from people who aren’t in your family. It’s very important that we all do this so we can get back to seeing all our friends again soon.
We have asked your parents to email us some pictures of you working at home. We would love to see the fun things you have been getting up to and we’d like to share them on the website for your friends to see. Remember to say a big thank you to your parents and those who have been looking after you and don’t forget all the little jobs you can do to help them around the house.  We want to wish you and your families a very Happy Easter!
