We are delighted to welcome you to Greaghrahan National school's website.
We are a small three teacher rural school, five minutes from Ballyconnell Co. Cavan, close to the Slieve Russell hotel. We pride ourselves on our welcoming and caring school atmosphere and the fun and active learning opportunities we provide for our pupils.

Magic Show

There was magic in the air on Thursday evening when magician Colin Walker entertained the children with a fun, engaging magic show. The children were super excited with his range of tricks, his fantastic balloon modelling and two very special guests Baby Shark and Olaf. A fun evening was had by all.
A big thank you to the Parents Association for providing tea and refreshments and treats for the children.

Happy Pancake Day

The pupils at Greaghrahan celebrated Pancake Tuesday by sampling beautiful pancakes with a variety of toppings. The favourite toppings were definitely nutella and marshmallows. They really were delicious!

The pupils at Greaghraghan NS are very excited with the introduction of 15 new iPads to the School. The pupils are very enthusiastic about developing their Digital Learning. They will be developing their Digital Skills through a range of apps and programming linked throughout the curriculum.

Greaghrahan NS at Earth Science Labs

On Monday last the Senior Room travelled to Fermanagh to participate in UNESCO Global Geopark's Earth Science Labs. The pupils learned all about the Geopark area and engaged in interactive labs with Geopark experts exploring:
1. Fossilising Footprints
2. Meteorite Impact
3. Earthquake Simulation
4. Violent Volcanoes
5. Dissolving Limestone Caves
