We held a Book Fair in the school where we had the chance to read lots and lots of new books. We also got to keep some of the books for our school library. We can't wait to start reading them!

There was great egg-citement on Friday when the Junior Room heard about a special delivery by the Easter Bunny. Soon all were searching high and low for those well hidden chocolate eggs until the rain put a damper on things. An egg-cellent way to start the Easter holidays! Congratulations to our wonderful pupils Tierna, Kate and Hannah who recently read their way into the Millionaire's Club. This is a club exclusively for pupils who have read over a million words. Emma, already a member has now become a multi-millionaire word reader. What an amazing achievement girls, you are fantastic role models and we are so proud of you!

During Seachtain na Gaeilge, the students from St. Mogue’s College, Bawnboy and their teacher Ms. Connaughton, visited our school to play a seisiún ceoil. The young students had everyone tapping and clapping along in no time. Their enthusiasm was infectious and their dedication to their craft admirable. They were a real inspiration to our young pupils who are just beginning their journey as young musicians. Thank you for visiting our school, it was a pleasure to have you join us.

Colm Mc Elwaine - Orson the Great

It was a pleasure to welcome the author Colm Mc Elwaine to the school recently to mark the publication of his second book. Colm explained to the pupils how he became an author and talked about his new book "Orson the Great"
When ten-year-old Orson Whitlock is given a deck of cards by his father on Christmas Eve 1970, he falls in love with magic. Orson becomes a magician but when he discovers a family secret going back generations, he is dragged deeper into a world of secret societies, deception and strange disappearances.
During the presentation, Colm performed a magic trick for the pupils. He then signed copies of his book for the pupils. According to our readers, the book is a real page turner. We wish Colm the best of luck with his new book and look forward to further titles in the future.

World Book Day - Reading Café

On World Book Day the pupils enjoyed dressing up as their favourite story book characters. All classes visited the Reading Café in the school hall for some Book Tasting. The older pupils go to sample different reading genres and then wrote reviews of what they had sampled. Thank you to the many parents who joined us for the event and enjoyed some special reading time with their child. The edibles on the menu also went down a treat with all the enthusiastic readers.
