What an exciting lead up to Christmas its been in Greaghrahan NS! On Monday and Tuesday our friends from Newtowngore NS visited us with their teachers. We had a wonderful two days exploring the theme of Christmas through Aistear. At the Literacy table we heard the story of when Santa got stuck up the chimney. Then we discussed what we would do to help Santa and wrote about it. At the Numeracy station we had to solve Maths puzzles to crack the code and unlock the drawer to get Santa's "Naughty and Nice" list. We really enjoyed creating Christmas pictures and figures with Geraldine at the Lego table. In the hall Santa's elves were very busy checking toys, wrapping them and writing tags so that all the toys would go to the right country. Then we loaded up Santa's sleigh and decorated it. There was great excitement as the sleigh took off for its long journey around the world. We wish all our friends from Newtowngore a very Happy Christmas and we look forward to seeing them again in the New Year.
