We are delighted to welcome you to Greaghrahan National school's website.
We are a small three teacher rural school, five minutes from Ballyconnell Co. Cavan, close to the Slieve Russell hotel. We pride ourselves on our welcoming and caring school atmosphere and the fun and active learning opportunities we provide for our pupils.

Our multi-use soft play area is now complete and as you can see from the pictures, break times are now even more fun! The project was funded by the CLÁR scheme and we owe a huge thank you to our Parent Association for securing the funding for the school. A special word of thanks to parent Bernard Gallagher who worked tirelessly to see the project to completion.
The soft play area has four pieces of equipment which were carefully chosen to promote the social and physical development of the children.
The four tower climbing frame is accessible from many angles and children are encouraged to develop hand-eye co-ordination, core strength and balance as they navigate the ladders, rope bridge and climbing wall.
The see-saw as well as being fun, offers challenges in teamwork, problem solving and co-ordination. The Mars Rover provides lots of opportunity for active and imaginative child led play.
The spinner has proven extremely popular with the children. This piece of equipment can have benefits for children with sensory challenges as well as promoting co-operation and turn taking.
